Hérisson waterfalls
It’s one of the most famous natural site in Franche Comté region!
The Hérisson (805 m altitude) is installed in a valley surrounded by cliffs. The course of its waters (15 km) rushes down the backwater in a series of 31 falls before crossing Lakes Val and Chambly. This is the opportunity for a walk on the path along the river. There you can admire the multitude of waterfalls, basins and caves meeting your eyes.
At every step of the journey, take the time to listen to the soothing sound of running water ... Or to gaze at the impressive Cascade de l'Eventail (65m), Grand Saut (60m) and Saut Giraud (35m) waterfalls.

Access to waterfalls
3 ways to access waterfalls:
-From the bottom (fall of Éventail and house of waterfalls): from Doucier, take road D326 and enter Valley of Hérisson.
-From Bonlieu (Saut of Forge): access from center of Bonlieu.
-From the top (Saut Girard): go to Ilay or Hameau de La Fromagerie by road D39 or D75.
Parking of Éventail waterfall (bottom) is not free in June, July and August (every day) and in April and May (week-ends).

Information you need to walk along Hérisson falls (path open all year)
√ Time and distance of the whole path: 2h50 / 7.4 km / 255 metres of difference in height.
√ The path is not a circuit, you must go to one way and return (you must go back to your departure to reach your car).
√ It’s a walking path, it is advisable to wear walking shoes.
√ Do not go out of the marked paths (be careful with children).
√ For babies, take a baby sling (path not possible with push chair).
√ Respect fauna and flora.
√ In case of accident, follow SOS markings to inform first-aid services.

Waterfall house – Museographic Space :
   
Situated at the foot of Hérisson waterfalls, it completes your visit in
an original, recreational way, making you aware of the fragility of this
natural environment. You will also discover the legends of the site, the falls
at various times of the year, the industrial activity that used the driving
force of the Hérisson water (exhibitions, film projection…).
Open from 01/04 to 30/09 every day. Groups all year on booking.
Rates: adults 4 € / children
(5-11 years'old) 2€.
