The « Grand lac » of Clairvaux Les Lacs :

Situated : in Clairvaux Les Lacs.
Origin : Glacier
Area: 64 Ha.
Length : 1.25  km
Width : de 650 m.
Depth : Maximum 30 m. /Moyenne 7,8 m.
Altitude : 520 m

Since prehistoric times, the Clairvaux lakes have symbolised the confrontation between humans and nature, and the remains of lake dwellings witness of the lake’s attraction. Thousands of archaeological objects were discovered. In summer, you can visit exhibit of excavations in « salle des fêtes » of Clairvaux Les Lacs.
Today, the large lake is in harmony with the town at which it peacefully borders. In summer, the Clairvaux lakes offer various natural activities. The gentle slopes of the large lake invite children to play and bathe in total security. For the adults, wind-surfing, yachting and pedal boats are available.

Activities :
Bathing: supervised beach (handicap access to water). In July and August, parking is not free and camping cars can not access:
During the week: day 4€ / ½ day 3 € (2.00-4.30 p.m.), evening 2.50 € (4.30 – 6.00 p.m.)
Week ends and official days: day 5 €, ½ day 4 €, evening 3€.

Other water activities:
Pedalos, fishing, hiking (circuit of crêtes 6 km). Pic nic area.

Area : 17 Ha.
Length : 650 m.
Width : de 350 m.
Depth : Maximum 15 m. /Moyenne 5,8 m.

More discretely, the small lake offers unequalled scenery and tranquillity.  It also supplies drinking water for Clairvaux and its surrounding villages.

Activities :
Private lake, only hiking is possible: circuit of Langard (9 km).
